The operation form

This is everything the system asks for to get an operation set up, on one page. It takes an afternoon with the FSA folder open, and it is done once. Fill it in the app, tell it to FRED by voice, or print this and bring it in; either way it becomes your record, read back to you before a line of it files.

2. Farms

A farm is whatever you call one: the Home Place, the State lease, the South Place. Any size. Owned or leased and from whom, any irrigated ground, and the plan for the year if you have it.

3. Fields

Each field under its farm: what you call it, the other name it goes by, total acres, the acres that actually get farmed, the crop this year, irrigated or dryland, and the legal if you want it on record.

4. Storage

Every bin and every building grain goes in: what it holds, flat or hopper or building, air or not, and what is in it today with the grade if you have it. A quonset counts.
